About Haven Automation Ltd

Haven Automation Ltd. was founded in 1965 and originally operated primarily as an instrument service and contracting company, resulting in its acquisition by the Wood Group of Scotland in 1978. After a management buyout in 1990, Haven Automation changed direction slightly, and has since concentrated on the design, development, manufacturing and servicing of field calibration equipment.

The company's activities are now divided into two divisions:

• Sales  (Portable Calibrators & Test Bench Systems)
• Service (Instrument Repair and Calibration)

Haven has successfully maintained a reputation for the technical excellence and reliability of its products. These include calibrators for Pt-100, thermocouple simulation, temperature, pressure and electrical signals, which range from hand-held instruments to complete calibration workstations and custom-designed workshops. 

This wide range of high quality products is further bolstered by Haven being the exclusive distributor for both the UK and Ireland for the American based company Crystal Engineering Corporation, one of the leading suppliers of pressure equipment throughout the world. 

Based in Swansea, Haven Automation Ltd is also a distributor for Practical Instrument Electronics, based in the US and Elabo GmbH, based in Germany. Haven has an experienced team who are keen to help customers and offer strong after-sales support, as well as having agents/distributors worldwide.

Quality is integral to the company's successful business strategy and ISO9001 accreditation was awarded in 1992.

The company opened its first UKAS Accredited Laboratory for DC electrical measurement in 1990. This was followed by pressure measurement, AC electrical measurement and in 1997 it opened the first UKAS temperature laboratory in Wales.

The laboratories provide essential new product certification and after sales service and support, as well as carrying out a repair and re-certification service for many other manufacturer’s products.

Haven Automation have also been a part of the UVDB Verify scheme for many years.
